Lose 10 Pounds in One Week -- The Best Method

Looking for the best way to burn fat fast, get rid of some flab, and lose 10 pounds in as little as one week? Then you're in the right place! Below I'm going to outline one of the most effective and efficient ways to drop up to 10 lbs in about 7 days. And it doesn't require you to starve yourself or exercise like a maniac. It also doesn't involve any expensive diet supplements or dangerous "weight loss" pills. All it takes is a very simple diet, a little bit of super-efficient fat-burning exercise, and a few cheap "shortcut" supplements. Here we go...


5 Steps to Lose 10 Pounds in One Week

Step 1: Cover the Basics

There are certain fitness "basics" you need to cover if you want to be able to burn fat and lose 10 pounds fast. First, you gotta get enough sleep. It's extremely difficult to lose weight efficiently when you're always tired, for a variety of reasons (including the fact that your body starts pumping out metabolism-killing "stress" hormones). Most people need at least 7 hours of quality sleep per night, but 8 is even better!

Also, you need to be well-hydrated if you want to have a healthy metabolism and enjoy high energy levels. At the very minimum, try to drink 70 ounces of pure water and/or unsweetened tea per day. Your body will thank you, you'll feel great, and it will be much easier to lose weight quickly.

Finally, you need to keep the "bad" things to a minimum, especially alcohol and drug consumption. When you drink, your liver literally stops the fat loss processes going on in your body so that it can focus on processing the alcohol and detoxing your body. One glass of red wine with dinner is OK but any more than that and you'll be significantly hurting your weight loss progress.


Step 2: Boost Your Metabolism (and Energy!)

Boosting your metabolism and energy is vital for fast, healthy fat loss. Higher energy and a "hot" metabolism make it so much easier to drop those 10 pounds quickly. Start by drinking a large tumbler of water first thing upon waking, at least 16 ounces. It'll clear your head and jumpstart your energy. If you need that caffeine kick, also drink a couple cups of sugar-free black or green tea. You can also consider taking a healthy energy booster that contains B vitamins, natural caffeine, yerba mate, or a combination of the three (best choice IMHO!). If you must have your morning coffee to get going, at least avoid sugar and artificial sweeteners (stevia and xylitol are two good natural sugar alternatives).

Next do about 10 to 15 minutes of light exercise. Fast walking or light jogging is fine, as long as you break a sweat and get your heart pumping a bit. You just want to get your metabolism kicked into gear and give yourself a healthy energy boost. Plus, it's been proven that people who do some form of exercise first thing in the morning are much more likely to stick to a good fitness routine and healthy diet over the course of the day!


Step 3: Eat a Modified-Caveman Diet (AKA "The Best Fast Weight Loss Diet in the World")

If you want to lose 10 lbs in a week, you're gonna have to follow a strict diet based around healthy, unprocessed foods. This will reduce calories and, more importantly, help to stabilize your blood sugar levels and insulin production. One of the best options is a "modified-caveman" or "paleo" diet. It basically involves eating mainly the kinds of natural foods that humans can hunt or gather in the wild. Lean meats, fish, eggs, nuts, large (non-grain) seeds, berries, root vegetables, etc. Purely quality proteins, good carbs, and healthy fats. At the very minimum, get at least 90% of your calories during the week from proteins, veggies, raw fruits, nuts, seeds, and healthy oils like extra-virgin olive oil and unrefined coconut oil.

Also, you can eat plenty of beans and legumes due to their appetite-suppressing high-fiber content and low glycemic index counts. You can also eat small amounts of low-fat dairy -- such as mozzarella cheese made from skim or low-fat milk -- since there is quite a bit of evidence that calcium is important for weight loss. FYI, this is where the "modified" part comes in, since beans/legumes and dairy products are not typical paleo-diet foods.

Obviously, all junk foods must be avoided. In fact, any processed food that contains refined sugars, flours, or fats should be cut out. Grains, potatoes, and other starches should also be avoided during this time. All of these foods spike blood sugar levels, cause your body to pump out insulin, and basically shut down fat-burning. Yes, what we're talking about is a type of "low-carb" diet (or lower-carb at least, since you can eat fruit). But, if you really want to lose those 10 pounds fast, you should be able to stick to it for a week!

One of the best ways to eat to lose pounds fast -- without going hungry or suffering extreme food cravings -- is to eat several small meals and snacks throughout the days instead of 2 or 3 big meals. In fact, many bodybuilders, fitness models, and athletes eat a small protein-based meal or snack about every 3 hours during waking hours. Many top nutrition experts recommend following a "6 meals a day" plan because it's an effective way to boost your metabolism, keep insulin and blood sugar levels steady, maintain high energy, and minimize hunger/food cravings all at the same time!

No matter what, remember that diet is 3/4 of the solution when it comes to healthy and safe "rapid" weight loss. If you eat (or drink) lots of processed, refined sugars, "white" flours, artificial chemical-laden junks foods, etc you will NOT lose weight quickly. For the best/fastest results you must eat an extremely clean diet based around high-quality proteins, healthy fats, and good carbs with LOTS of water for optimum metabolic function.


Step 4: Do Metabolic-Burst Exercise

Forget the long, boring, painful, and largely ineffective "cardio" workouts. Typical cardio, by itself, is not going to help you lose 10 pounds in one week. A much better, more-efficient option is to do "metabolic-burst" workouts. These are short (approximately 20-40 minutes), higher-intensity workouts based around full-body strength training exercise and interval-based cardio exercise. Put simply, intervals are brief bursts of high-intensity activity followed by short "active recovery" periods.

A very simple example is a light jog that involves doing a set of 5-30 reps (depending on your personal conditioning level) of bodyweight resistance exercises (e.g. pushups, squats, lunges, pullups, etc.) every 90 seconds for about 20 to 30 minutes. This kind of strength training/cardio combo workout is proven to burn more calories than typical workouts while also causing powerful metabolic and hormonal changes in the body. When you do both strength/resistance training and interval-based cardio exercise on a regular basis you create the ideal fat-burning conditions inside of your body. In fact, you'll literally burn fat and build lean muscle tissue while you sleep!


Step 5: Shortcut Supplements

There are a few low-cost diet supplements that can really help to speed up the weight loss process and allow you to lose 10 pounds in the next week. They include whey protein powder, omega 3 fat supplements (e.g. fish or krill oil), and a high-quality multivitamin formula. All of these powerful supplements are proven to assist in healthy weight loss, mainly because they help to cover all nutritional bases and can assist in faster recovery from tough workouts. At the very minimum, take a decent multivitamin/multimineral formula to make sure your body and metabolism has everything necessary for fast, efficient fat loss.

Hey, I'm a teen to and this does work but what also works (for me at least) is playing just dance(1 2 or 3 ) 3 works best ( for Wii ) it helped me lose 10 pounds in 4 days no joke just have fun with it, no body every said losing weight can't be fun

You don't have to be a jerk about it. I drink a lot of water, run, and cut junk foods out completely. I have also cut down on portion size for meals and still have trouble losing weight. Everyone's body is different, so don't criticize people who can't lose weight as easy as you.

Wow. Thank you soooo much. I've been overweight for a few years now due to some depression which caused me to eat to help myslef feel better blah blah blah. Im finally ohkay with my past but i just cant loose weight ive tried excercise but my body gets tired FAST. im 15 (almost 16) im 5ft 1in and 180 pounds not big boned at all lol. I would REALLY love to be able to wear a dress to one my best friends Quinceanera in June. I really want to loose about 50 or 60 pounds to be down to my bodies ideal weight and be comfortable with myself again. I hope this works for me. Thanks so much for posting this :D

I seriously want to lose weight quickly because I just can't stand th ethoght of beign on a diet for a long period of time. Yes, I'm a teen but I'm doing this for my health. I want to get in better shape so by next year It'll be easier for me to join my school's soccer team becuase they do intense workouts and, I don't wan tot be left behind. I would like to say to the person who blasted everyone that sometimes it helps to see it in writing. Losing weight is hard or it wouldn't be a billion dollar business. Try to be more positive...maybe you could let everyone know how you lost 20lbs in 2 weeks...that might be helpful.

Ive been Wanting to lose weight but I've always started of good and never kept up with it. I'm starting with this and a other weight lose plan; combining the 2, and hopefully I drop a lot of weight. Omg....just push the plate away and get off the couch....i can easily lose 5 in two days by watching my calories and doing thirty minute of any physical activity (e.g. walking, running, riding bikes, cardio, anything people!!!!)...just make sure u burn more calories than u eat

Agree absolutely,no need in being so harsh...& there are a lot of variables to each individuals success. Such as genetics,age,whether or not you may have to take medications for certain medical dx. Some medications can totally knock out your metabolic rate(how much or fast your body can burn fat). People who can lose 20 pounds in a week if there FAT! If you say you just cut out junk food and did nothing else and lost that much that means you were pigging out and are fat. So don't say just take out the junk food because some people arn't 100 ibs over weight.People who weigh less have a harder time losing weight.

Seriously - I have been counting calories and jogging miles per day for two months now and have had a really hard time losing the weight. It doesn't just fall off for everyone so try being a little less judgmental. Remember, you can be thin but if you have an ugly attitude it can still make you unattractive.

Yes, not everyone is blessed with a great metabolism. Couple that with the fact that certain body types burn fat/use fuel differently, and you soon realise that different methods have to be taken with these different types. For example, this diet does very well with the endomorphic type, but could work for anyone.
Furthermore, not every overweight person sits in bed pigging out, or on the couch doing nothing. Too much of anything is not good, yes, but that isn't always the case. Medications, the wrong diet (not necessarily junk), hypothyroidism, and sometimes NOT EATING ENOUGH AT ALL can be the cause of poor metabolism.
There's always at least one hating-_ss troll with no useful opinion; just shaming, negativity, and a false sense of superiority. Ugh. STFU. Everyone else, best of luck with this! And be patient. The more weight you have to lose, the faster it will come off...your body knows it doesn't need it!

read this last night. started today.
24 years old. 168 lbs on day one.

drank 16 oz of water when i got up the went for a walk for about 20 minutes.came home and rested. eat an apple for breakfast.

did metaboost work out for about 20 minutes jogging in place and alternating between lunges and squates.

Swimming frequently also helps. Dont go every day because ur stomach needs oxygen. Swimming builds muscle in your abdomen, legs and arms.

i think that people completely forget about stress, it does not matter how much you exercise if your stress level is really high, it distort entire metabolic reaction to your system is general. cortisol which increases your chance of fat production is activated, your hormone is not balance, which equal stress, lack of sleep. Just by sleeping for 8hrs your body heals, your mind is relaxed. weight loss is a gradual process, just like you gained the weight.good-luck and have people that supports you not people that competite against you.

Lean meats , lots of veggies, fruit( max 2 pcs) no carbs sugars and starches. Get out side and go for a walk every day! If you must have a snack at night have Some fruit:) it works for me. I've lost 30lbs in 2 months... Water water water

If you want to be a bit slimmer join a sporting club with girls your age it gives you a good chance to meet new friends that don't bully you. im 13 and was 125 lbs last year, but i gained 15 lbs!!! i was 135 lbs a few weeks ago but now im around 140!!! im not that active and i do tend to over indulge, but i think ive gone too far. i tried exercising, i ran on my treadmill every day for two weeks and drank a lot of water, but i ended up gaining like 2 lbs..... i know im not obese, but i really dont like the way i look. i want to lose 15 lbs and fast and keep it off... other than this diet, are there any other suggestions?and i want to lose the weight super fast.

Secondly, metabolism is different for everyone. Third, for people who have a less weight to lose, it is in fact more difficult to lose weight. Oh and for the Metabolic-Burst Exercise, can I just run as fast as I can IN PLACE for about 45 seconds, then rest 2 minutes, and repeat 3 or 4 times (cuz I read that somewhere on the internet and I want to know if it will work)? Skipping days when swimming is actually worse than swimming every day as your lungs need to be worked everyday in the water in order to improve their capacity while you swim. I swim and play water polo, and if I missed even one practice I ended up hurting more.

I hope it has been realized that your weight can fluctuate daily. Weigh yourself in the morning and at night, surprise! The scale goes up and back down in the morning. Anyone can lose 5 pounds in two days and gain it right back. Lose 10 lbs in 7 days, gain it back in one. Losing weight quickly can work but to keep it that way your lifestyle and eating habits need to change.

115lbs for any adult woman is thin enough. This is about eating healthy and exercising to keep your energy levels up, live longer, and generally feel better. If you go hard-core, sure you can lose weight in a week. But please do it for the right reasons. Health. Not to be more attractive. When you do it to be and feel more attractive (especially to someone else), it not only makes you go over-board (like slipping back into annorexia), but it also does not help the real issue (namely self-esteem, etc.), and will most likely result in weight gain down the road.
Your husband probably does like your hip-bones sticking out, I don't know many men who don't like that. However, at 115lbs, I'm sure they stick out already, and I'm pretty sure your husband would not like to see you hurt yourself.
Annorexia involves the pain of feeling hungry and the joy of the feeling that comes with ignoring or tackling that hunger.....which we know is not a healthy joy....it also involves loneliness, disappointment, and an ironic loss of control when you want to believe you're holding the reins.
Beuty is the confidence with which you carry yourself. Beuty is feeling happy and secure around other besutiful women. Beuty is owning your physical assets (such as pretty eyes, a nice smile, or gorgeous hair, and accepting your faults (such as that damned cellulite that plagues us all).

Yes but try to limit cuz carbs go right to your belly. So if you cut out carbs your body will eat off of the fat around your abdomen and you will lose weight. Hope this helps.

water is everything. Cut out sodas and sugary drinks. Today's soda is 100-200 calories and you don't even feel full when you drink it.

There are healthy alternatives. Keep water bottles in the fridge ready and always have water with you.

Cold water makes you hydrate faster and pee faster meaning the faster you get the junk out of your system and your body starts to absorb what it needs.

Water water water. Can't say it enough. Don't drown yourself, because you can get an illness from drinking too much water.

i am 14 years old and i weigh 142. but alot of it is muscle. i mean i can still wear a bikini but that doesnt mean i dont have some jiggle here and there.
anyone who is trying this diet should know that there body is different from anyone elses.
the goal isnt to loose 50 pounds or be a size zero.
the goal is to be in the best shape of your life (as good and FIT as you can be) -14 yr old female (good luck and i hope i can lose 15 pounds in 10 days!

I just got a phone call literally an hour ago from a lady who mentioned needing me to model for her this month. she mentioned the job like..a month and a half ago for this first time. i'm normally about 120 lbs 5'8'' and workout a lot. but i have gained 15 pounds recovering from breast augmentation surgery with no exercise and i'm freaking out because she just said she needs me in 8 DAYS! and to make it worse? it's going to be on tv...i have spent the last hour trying to find something to help me not make an embarrassment out of myself; this is it. thank you, i will post an update.

I'm 14 years old, and I am 5"11. I am approximately 187 lbs. I don't like my body at ALLLL! Soo, I really want this to change..I have a hard time losing weight, unfortunately, so I dont think this is going to result in 10 lbs in a week..it's a difficult goal to reach! As it is, I have to get ON my bus at 7:03 every morning, plus I have to work after school, then finish my homework. :( As a result, I have little to NO time for excersise. Any suggestions??? I'm not fat, but I'm most definitely chunky. All I want to lose is about 12 lbs in the next 2 weeks. If anyone has any reccomendations for this, I will be incredibly thankful!

I'm a 17 year old junk food FANATIC over the past year or two i've gained alot of weigth and noticed my jeans are ubber tighht. Lately, I have been looking up a few plans to lose weight QUICK. I am going on vacation in january and hope to tone my stomach. Right now i weigh about 150, and hope to go down to 115-120 as fast as possible. I'm going to start this tomorrow and hopefully nail it! I read the comments. First of all, this isn't a "jump start" diet. Although this will help you lose 10lbs in a week, it is actually a way of living/eating which is healthy. It will not only get you 10 lbs or so in a week, but help you continue to lose and maintain. You'll not lose 10 lbs every week on it, that is only the first week, but you can bet your butt you'll lose continually if you follow this. The only thing I would add is to have a cheat meal once a week or every two weeks. This will give you something to look forward too. Dream of pizza and brownies and reward yourself. That will help you stick to this. Note: I said "cheat meal" not "cheat day".
