Beachbody Insanity Workout Program Reviews

Looking for reviews of the Beachbody Insanity home workout program? Then you're in the right place! We are big fans of total-body, bodyweight-only, circuit-training workouts. Why? Because they simply work better than just about anything else out there for burning fat while toning/building lean muscle and developing real-world strength in a relatively safe way... all at the same time! With that in mind, we figured we'd do a quick review of the very popular 60-day home fitness program based around intense bodyweight circuit training. Insanity is brought to us from the folks at Beachbody, the same company that developed the ever-popular -- and very similar -- P90X program as well as the Brazil Butt-Lift workout program (among others).

As with all Beachbody products, the majority of the Insanity reviews you'll find online are very positive -- maybe too much so. It's difficult to know which ones are real and which ones were written by one of the thousands of "Team Beachbody" members -- or "coaches" as they're called -- who make money selling the products. In fact, the last time we checked, only about 10% of the Insanity workout reviews online contained any negatives/cons at all.

Fortunately for you, Fast Easy Fit is an independent website that provides independent, BS-free info. The goal here is to provide a real, non-biased, and useful review of the Insanity workout program that highlights both the "good" and the "bad" about this interesting new fitness product. If you've used Insanity yourself please help us out by leaving your own customer reviews, ratings, and comments in the area at the bottom of the page... thanks!

The Good

If you can stick with it, the Insanity workout system will almost definitely help you lose fat while toning all the muscles in your body at the same time. And it'll do it fast. That's because it's a super-intense exercise program based around total-body interval training. It combines both effective bodyweight strength training moves with various forms of high-intensity cardiovascular exercise (including HIIT). This provides you with the best of both worlds, in terms of burning fat and building and toning sexy lean muscle tissue. Plus, as with nearly all bodyweight exercise-focused programs, Insanity can help you develop a ton of useful "functional" strength and fitness, which can improve your overall health, make you a better athlete, protect you from injury, and simply help you move and feel a lot better!

The Bad

In our opinion -- and from what we've heard from a few people who've tried the program -- many people who buy Insanity aren't going to stick with it for more than a couple of weeks. That's because a large percentage of the people who buy "infomercial" products are looking for a quick and easy solution to a problem. Insanity is certainly not "easy" by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, it's probably too difficult for the average totally-out-of-shape person looking to lose 20+ pounds while getting into shape at the same time. The only thing the typical person likes less than pain is LOTS of pain.

One common theme we've seen in many of the Insanity reviews is that it seems to work best for people who already exercise on a regular basis. These are people who already have a base of cardiovascular conditioning and won't be totally overwhelmed by the high intensity levels of the Insanity workouts. They are looking to kick things up a notch and burn off the rest of their stubborn belly fat while getting those lean, sexy, strong "fitness model" muscles (including six-pack abs!).

The other problem we see is the same for many home workout programs: most people simply do not have the discipline to do a hard, painful workout by themselves inside their homes on a nearly daily basis. It takes a good amount of self-discipline and self-motivation to get yourself to workout at all day in and day out for weeks and months on end. It takes a HUGE amount to do it totally by yourself... in your living room or bedroom... in front of your TV... with your kids, pets, spouse, cell phone, etc. distracting you!

One more thing: Insanity's price seems to be a little high for what it is. There are other really good home workout programs -- based around high-intensity calisthenics, aerobics, latin dance, kettlebells, etc. -- that are quite a bit cheaper and just as effective. And although "Shaun T" -- the hip hop dancer who leads you through the workouts -- seems like a good instructor, we don't know if he's that good! For nearly $150 you could buy several sessions with a one-on-one personal trainer in many cities.

Conclusion

The Beachbody Insanity workout program is based on solid fitness and exercise fundamentals that we know work very, very well for both fat-burning and muscle-toning. It's basically a bodyweight calisthenics workout based around different forms of high-intensity interval training. It combines some very effective exercises, including basic plyometric movements, with a proven form of fat-burning HIIT-based cardio (similar to the Tabata method).

The main problem with Insanity is that it's probably too intense for many of the people who order it looking for a "quick fix" to their weight loss problems. If you haven't worked out in years and are completely out of shape look somewhere else. Insanity is only going to leave you sore, frustrated, and hating exercise (never a good way to feel!).

We give the Insanity program 3 and a half stars out of 5. If you disagree or have your own reviews, testimonials, opinions, comments, etc. please leave them below!

I just finished the 60 day Insanity workout and I can agree with some of what you have to say. It is not for the faint of heart, or for those who do not want to work hard (according to the infomercial). I am 45 years old and while I wasn't in terrible shape, I had not been exercising as regularly as I should have been. My husband and I took the Insanity challenge and we have both reaped the rewards. Our core is stronger, my back pain is gone, I have more energay and I am more toned all over. I was able to get the workout for only $68.00 online, so not so bad. We are continuing to do the workout, so I feel like we are getting our money out of it. I have done many video workouts over the years and this is the hardest one I have ever done, not for beginners, but overall it will give great results if you stick with it, even if you can't do the whole thing. I like it!

I found Insanity fun, in a difficult sort of way, but I started having trouble with my left knee. It is just too high impact. People need to be careful with this program, particularly if you are older.

I'm almost 2 weeks into this program, I downloaded it online...so I cheated price wise. I have over the past few years been losing weight and running/working out. I have to say, combined with a slight diet change, that I've gotten the fastest results yet by doing the Insanity program. The motivation is there due to the immediate changes that are occurring and I expect to keep up on it because of this.

I was actually just discussing this with the coworker who introduced me to Insanity and he's saying the same thing, we are are changing so quickly. I would recommend this program if you have the desire to change and spending the money on it should show that you have some skin in the game and help you even more.
Just do it.

I'm on week 2 for Insanity, but while it might seem premature I think I already have a good feel for the program.

It is very intense, but I feel the workouts are worth it as long as you really try. Perhaps it has been overlooked that the promoters of Insanity do say it's effective if you can do "40 reps or 14".

The problem with a 60 day program is you have to follow the program exactly for maximal results, which I am unable to due to a demanding physical job with differing hours as well as taking University night courses.

As a result I'm doing Insanity by my own pace. It feels like it's working, but again, having to follow the calender exactly is the biggest deficiency of the "average joe's" ability to follow this workout.

My name is Roderick and I am a Goverment contract worker in Afghanistan and for months I was trying to lose weight by running, lifting weights, and even kickboxing then a friend introduced me to the insanity workout program. since starting in jan of 2010 to today I have not stopped doing this program.I can't speak for anyone but myself I love it. I went from a frumpy 256 to a rock solid chiseled 232 of ripped muscle, because I used to lift weights. Now thanks to insanity I get complements on my physique all the time and i'm a 44yr old dude.In closing with me "Its Personal" and Imake taking of my body a priority not a option

I agree that there are definately the pros and cons to this program. It makes you feel great once you've started it and you feel the changes in your body instantly. However, it is a very tedious schedule that requires a lot of planning. I'm a college student and its hard to follow the meal plan and eat every 3-4 hours while i'm in class. Also, I did the program for two weeks and stopped because of lack of motivation but i'm starting it back up again and plan on finishing it this time! If you have the motivation, time, and will power this program is a great choice.

I love it! I'm fat and overweight and I never work out regularly, but I love Insanity. Even though I probably should have started smaller. I'm in recovery week, Thank God! During Weeks 3-4, I skipped a couple of workouts, but I stuck with it, and just considered those off days. I think that's what matters. I stuck with it, and I'm still loving it! It IS crazy expensive, but my family knows how much I spent on it, so they motivate me to get my money's worth. I'm not following the diet plan because I don't have THAT much willpower, but I'm seeing results. I am making small changes in my diet, just not crazy psycho dieting like I should. I think if you want to do Insanity, get it because you can't go wrong. You see results before you ever get even slightly burnt out, so you are motivated to continue. Also, if you can be like Ratmonkey and download it online then do it, cause it's sooooo expensive!

I just turned 46 and was in relatively good shape. When my two teen age daughters age 14 and 15 and husband who do no exercise all swore that they would partake in the challenge, I bought the program. We all have found it to be very challenging but very satisfying once finishing a work-out. Two weeks into it I can feel and see the results in my abs and legs, my husband has lost 10 lbs. and both of my daughters are firming up and are all inspired. Clearly one can either embrace the difficult challenge and gain satisfaction from the accomplishment or run completely away from it. I didn't mind paying the $120 as it serves as a reminder as to the investment and the commitment that my family swore to. So far we are loving it!

I've done P90X and several other Beachbody programs, and I think probably Insanity is the toughest. It's like the difference between jogging and playing full court basketball. My wife and I are doing it and we're nearly done with week 3 and definitely seeing results, thinner, cut more. I'm 47 and in good shape and it's kicking the crap out of me, but in a good way. Also, I was able to get it from Ebay for $68.00 so it's definitely worth it. I'm really looking forward to next week, a recovery week, then after that, the workouts go from 40 minutes to 60. Watch out.

I purchased Insanity a several months ago, and was way overweight for a 22 year old. I have lost 40 lbs since February. There are a few things that make this workout unique and effective.

1.) You only buy the DVD's. No pull up bar, no weights, no bands. Just open space and a DVD player and a TV.

2.) The workout is just 40 minutes a day. The average time to a gym around me may be 10 minutes, so just driving to the gym and back can take 10-20 minutes which is half the workout!

3.) I, for one could not even complete the warm-up when I started the DVD, and now I am almost completing them. So, even for anybody out of shape, Shawn T tells you all the time to step out if you are out of form, just do it.

4.) I have gotten 7 friends doing this workout. Men, women, middle aged, over 40, out of shape, track runners. ALL OF THEM love the workout and have seen results from just losing weight, or toning up an already in shape body.

this workout is NOT underrated, and from what i can see, not anyone i know that goes to the gym every day for 2 months saw the results i did in 2 months doing insanity.

This is my first week with "Insanity." I tried P90X off and on for over a year now. P90X gave me some great results as far as "size shrinking" but not a lot of pounds loss. I realized that was because I wasn't as consistent with the routine and diet as I should be and because P90X is primarily a strength training program. I've come to realize that I need more cardio and because I took the P90X challenge, I felt I could also take the Insanity challenge with my own proper modifications incorporated. I'm 41 years old, I have a sedentary lifestyle for the most part, I'm overweight, and have some medical issues (i.e. hypertension).

Although people think the cost is too much, I think it's just right. We spend so much money on things that aren't good for us, but taste good or feel good, yet when it's time to invest in our health and ultimate happiness, we question the price.

Insanity is not for the fad dieter/exerciser or person look for a quick fix and cheap deal. It's for people who are dedicated to taking their lives to a higher state of health and joy. It is a lot of hard work and although I'm in my first week of the program, I can see the good that will come from this program.

It is hard to stay motivated some times when you're doing it on your own and I have three doggies for distraction. But once I start the workout, about 10 minutes into the program I'm feeling amazing, and by the end, I'm wiped out but the endorphins make me very happy and proud that I made it through even with modificaitons.

I'm a 45 year old Soldier stationed in Iraq. I hate lifting weights and wanted a solid work out program that I could stick with, but that would not be easy. I researched Insanity and bought it. I completed the entire program and have started over again and have received excellent benefits from the program. I look great, I feel great, everything they say is true. It's very hard!! The warm up alone will kick your butt! Only doing this program, I came close to maxing my Physical Fitness test. Great Program, great Investment...

I downloaded this program so I got it for free. I don't think it's worth $145 but there are cheaper ways to find it. It's worth the effort to stay on top of it but isn't for slackers or the faint of heart. Also, I've had several knee surgeries and sometimes have to substitute some moves for others that are less dangerous/painful. All in all, a good program.

I agree that unless you have a foundation of fitness going prior to beginning insanity, it would be difficult to stay motivated. But if you enjoy a challenge and want to take your fitness to the next level, this is the program for you! I am not a beachbody coach but have completed P90X, P90X+, and a few other beachbody programs, but none with the results that Insanity has given me and I have 3 weeks to go!! The price does not bother me since I don't pay for a gym membership. My gym is in front of my TV with my kids, dog, and husband watching (often with envy) me work out on most days. For me, trying to get the motivation to go to a gym to workout would be too difficult, much easier to work at home! Thanks Shaun T.... I feel stronger than I have in 20 years.

I was able to buy the Insanity DVDs at a discounted price and have been following the workouts for over a month. I can tell you that they absolutely DO work extremely well. I don't know if I would have bought the program at full price but I'm glad that I did get it. I think the negative reviews I've sen are all from people who are just too lazy to do real exercise for a couple of months!

My hubby and I started this work out a few weeks ago and we started to see the differance...It has not been easy, at least for me the excercises jumping and the push up are really hard, so I compliment the work out by at least 1/2 hour power walk. Like any other program, no pain no gain!

I am thinking of getting insanity. I am slender but have some belly fat I want to get rid of. I do 30 min + on a stair machine just about every day. Do you think I will be able to go through Insanity?

Anonymous said...

Really pumped about getting in shape and showing my muscles. I'm 16 and only on day 4. I'm not in great shape but I'm small. Insanity isn't as hard as I thought but Ive just started. I like it and I know I'm gonna see results. I'm also going to do p90x and hip hop abs. I can't Wait! I just wish I didn't have to eat so much. I also don't feel I'm working out enough and would like some other workouts I could do the same day. I just run in the morning. Other than that loving insanity.

Anonymous said...

I just got this program and today was my first day doing the program. It is hard, and Im sure it will continue to get harder. I already love the program and I havent even seen any changes in my body yet. Why do I love it?? Because it pushes you! You will not lose weight or get into great shape without lots of effort. So, if you cant dedicate yourself to a program that will work, just because it is to hard for you, then NO program is good for you. You have to WANT to do it and make those changes in your body and health. There is no easy way to do it. So, work hard for it, or you wont get results. If you really want it and are willing to do it and see it through....BUY IT!

A friend of mine gave me the workout because he was too lazy to do it and I'm about 2 weeks into the insanity workout. I do it with my girlfriend and while we are having a great time, it does take a certain type of mental toughness. My girlfriend has never trained hard in her life and at first she would get frustrated and just sit down and I had to encourage her to keep going. I had problems finishing some parts but because of being a soccer player I was able to keep pushing. Now my girlfriend is doing more and more each time but only because I help her along. Definitely not for the weak.

I'm 21 years old this is my third time doing this my first two time tried to get into it but I couldn't get through it cause lack motivation and will power but this time is different because I have mind the right mind set for it not easy it really really hard and I hate it but I hate my body more it been only a week 1/2 and my condition is way better I struggle at first but eventually u find a pace ur comfortable with the main thing is to do is do little more each time n stick with it and it ok to take 30 or 45 second break but just get back on it and you will get the result u want

I'm about to begin my 4th week of Insanity, and I am seeing some changes. I must say, you will see the maximum changes to your body if you follow the nutrition plan. I'm using the website www.sparkpeople.com to monitor my nutrition, I'm using Insanity Nutrition Plan as a guide since, I travel alot and hence don't always prepare my own meals.

Insanity is hard work it's not for the faint at heart. Decide, Commite, Succeed

Hi! I bought the insanity dvds in january 2010 I started the first week and gave up It was really hard.
In Novemeber 2010 I started running again started to get my fitness back then rememberd I had bought the dvds and said after christmas I would start using them I made a promise to my children that I would stop smoking. I stopped smoking on the 6th Feb 2011 and started doing the insanity workouts as well as going for a morning run and a evening cycle. I get up at 6am each morning have breakfast then 7am do insanity dvd, go for a run at 10am with my dog and 3year old in push chair. then in the evening i get on my turbo trainer and ride between 10/20miles. I know this sound alot but I feel much better I'm alot fitter and its stops me from wanting to light a fag. My 3year old does try and join in as do my twin girls who are 10 but my 2 teenager are not bothered which really annoys me. I suppose when they get to my age 35yrs they will understand. having been a runner for 25 years I really think if you have a go at doing the dvds at your own pace to start off with stop if you need to then work your way throught them. Yes they are hard and at first when I started them they put me off but now I love doing them I follow the programm and diet I eat more now then I ever did when I smoked.

Go for it have a try what have you got to loose apart from a little sweat LOL!! ok alot

I have been doing the Insanity workout for the last six months and I love it. It has become part of my daily routine. If you are the type of person who quits at the first sign of fatigue or pain this may not be for you. You have to change your mindset and continue to work hard. This program will change your body but you have to want it. Just ask yourself what do you hate more, a little pain or a huge gut? I'm 32 and have abs like I did when I was 20. It's worth every penny.

I finished the program last year and I was in the most amazing shape. I was still in high school so I would do to workout and then go to track practice! I just wish now I had the motivation to workout once a day now! but Insanity is definetly worth every single penny. I like how shaun T pushes you and yells like hes getting everyone pumped up. It is really hard to stay with the program but what helped me was imaging the body I wanted and thinking about how bad i wanted it. Now i just do a random insanity workout a couple times a week and its all I need!

Anonymous said...

I am on day 4 of the program and i can no imagine someone being in a lot worse shape then i am. When i was in high school i was really strong and fit but since i went from 220lbs all the way up to 360 now i am back down to 290. I am 28 years old and i like the program. If you cant do all the exercises you can modify them slightly so you can do them which i have to do. The program is hard but i believe just about anyone can do it with a little modification. If does take a lot of will power to stick with it but in the end it will be worth it. In 60 days you will look back and be like wow if i would of just stuck with it i would of been done by now. I am hoping i can finish the program.

Insanity is awesome. I am a 45 year old guy, used to run but had to stop due to knee problems, no other exercise program has given me the exhilaration that I got from running until I discovered Insanity. After stopping running I had gained 20 pounds but since starting Insanity I have lost 15 of those and still going strong. Eating healthy becomes easier when you are on the program because you feel so much better in general. The total tight toned feeling is awesome, especially in the core. Those who have had knee problems can do minor modifications to take a lot of the impact out and still get a lot of the benefit. The discipline is not hard either because you know how good you will feel when done. I bought the disks several months ago and was on and off for a while, the thing that has allowed me to stick to it is the realization that you do not have to go as hard core as the folks on the dvd, you can modify and take breaks as needed but still get an amazing, drenched in sweat workout. It becomes very addicting once you find your pace. You also do not need to do it six days a week as recommended in the package, I do it about four days a week and that is plenty. I paid full price for the disks, have no regrets at all because it is by far the best workout I have gotten. It is a lifetime workout plan for what would otherwise be one months worth of a gym membership. This probably sounds like a paid testimonial but it is really a life changer.

Wait a second, you gave the program. 3.5 stars because it's too difficult for some? It's called insanity for a reason. Because its difficult. People are dumb. I look back on my workouts before insanity as a joke. Only negative for some would be joint pain (not me).. but 3.5 stars because it is difficult for some is ridiculous.

K, first off... for all you saying you don't lose much weight... its because you don't stick to the diet. During the first month you will build some muscle as you tone up which can seem frustrating on the scale. It is during the second month where fat melts away. I lost 9 pounds in the first month and 18 pounds in the second. Secondly for all you saying this program is too easy... try doing the exercises properly instead of half assing your way through them. When Shawn T says "butt down!" he means it. The lower you go with you butt the better. I've seen a ton of beachbody coach videos where the "coaches" are bending at the hip and leaning with their backs to complete the exercises. Keep your back straight up and SQUAT down dammit. It takes a tremendous amount of effort to get the technique right through an entire workout and your legs will be on fire. BUTT DOWN, BACK STRAIGHT, GO DEEP into the exercises. Don't half ass just to say you made it through the session. Barley bending your knees or straight legged bending over to touch the floor does not count as a rep. You have not done anything if you make it to day sixty with that PATHETIC technique.

Like anything, you only get what you put into it and I see alot of youtube videos of outrageously awful technique. Most of you should not be doing this program at all let alone calling yourself "coaches". If you've completed insanity but still have 20% body fat... your not fit. Your still fat... I'm positive you don't do even half the DVD sessions and the parts you do do are half assed technique. Keep plugging away at it. It took years to put on the weight. Its not going to fly off in 2-3 or even 8 weeks. Do it again and again untill you get under 10%. Be prepared to work! and train to be who you want to be. Bad technique is cheating yourself.

I do believe that insanity works. I recently had a baby and now I am trying to lose the baby fat. before the pregnancy I was 135 lbs and now I am 155 lbs. I am on my first week of month 2 and its kicking my butt. I am following the diet plan, not all the way to the T, but pretty close. I have not seen extreme results yet but I guess I just have to be patient. I did notice that I have more resistance than before so that motivates me to keep going.

I was in pretty decent shape when I started insanity. I was surprised at how tough it was in the beginning. I did half workouts for the first 2 weeks, I'd do half the 1st workout one day and the other half then next until I could get through each complete workout. This program is extremely intense and you must be careful not to push it too hard in the beginning. You could hurt yourself if you're not careful. Overall, I would recommend Insanity without hesitation. You will get in shape, quick!

hi, i was totally unfit and overweight a friend at work started on the insanity work out programme and after two weeks into it everyone could notice the results. so, of course got myself started...... with a warning of course its haaaaaaaaaard!. my first couple of days were undesirable but i pushed through. im halfway through my second week and i have lost 4 pounds! (with a healthy diet of course).
I would highly recommend insanity if you ready to make a change and have a strong will to meet your set goals.

I just started the Insanity videos the end of April. We have a gym at work and do the workouts M-W-F so we're not following the six-day plan. I also do a combat conditioning class twice a week. It is definately hard but I'm really enjoying because several of us get together to do it each week.

We'll do the fit test again on June 1st, so I'm curious how much I'll improve. I got the disks on Ebay for myself for $48 so it was well worth it. The company bought a copy too so we'd have one at work.

We have all levels of fitness in the class so everyone just does what they can.

Idk what u mean by most cities but at ballys a session is $99 lol so rather than one and a half sessions this is a better buy even if u only stick with it for one week lmao

I am not a fitness instructor or sales rep!!

I have just completed my 60 day trial and can safely say it is the best workout I have ever done. I agree that self discipline and self motivation is a huge factor in being able to complete it but...you can also work at your own pace and go as hard as you feel you can. Once you start to get stronger, fitter and leaner you find your self naturally pushing your self harder anyway. I have shed some very stubborn areas of fat, gained strength and put on lean, defined muscle in a far shorter time than expected.

My advice to anyone trying it is, get through the first 2-3 weeks at your own pace and I almost guarantee the addiction will kick in when you start seeing results etc.

The only thing I would say is that the nutritional guide is a bit harder to stick to as I LOVE my food. It is easy to think you will be as ripped as the people in the video at the end of it but that won't happen unless your diet is just as ruthless. I didn't stick to the diet 100% but have still managed to get definition in all the right places...so all in all....go for it!!!!

Anonymous said...

I'm only 19, on my 2nd week, and already seeing results. I love Insanity, it's DEFINITELY not for those who can't do well pushing theirselves to the limits. And the last time I exercised this hard was when I was in 7th grade! And now I'm a Sophomore in college!!! See the difference? My abs are starting to form, I went from 165lbs to 155lbs and I've been eating healthy food that I've NEVER eaten and it starts to taste like normal GREAT food! :D I recommend it. If you're looking to look good with that sweet ass Porsche 964 in your garage, I recommend insanity for you.

Anonymous said...

I have 1 week remaining in the 60 day Insanity program. I started at 295...no lie! and I now weight 270, That's 25 pounds!! I have to say that if you are ready to change your lifestyle for good and get rid of those nasty habits, then this is it. I did what I could and I'm telling you, If I can do it so can you. I feel better and not just that I'm starting to tone up. Before I couldn't even run, I can now run 11 minute miles. I know that's not impressive but for someone with my weight, man I'll tell you it feels great. I still have a long way to go and I can tell you I'm not giving up. Just remember...you can do it!

I have finished this insanity workout program and was rewarded with marvellous results. I have tried other programs previously but they never seemed to work, but this program worked and results were magnificent!

My girlfriend and I are in our second week of insanity and they couldn't have named this workout better. I just wanted to leave a comment about the price. If you can stick with it for 60 day, I think the price is reasonable. I know I haven't finished it, but here is my reasoning. Just before starting insanity I had a personal trainer 3 days a week for a month. It was a package for $425. Long story short.. it wasn't worth the money. Personal trainers are hit and miss, and some don't have a plan when you come in.. they just wing the session. If you have the drive, I think insanity is worth the money.

Great Review but it still lacks the in-depth analysis i was looking for regarding the exercises with in Insanity, the science behind them and the effects on knee joints and the lower back, if anyone knows any other Reviews that explains them id be more then glad if you were to post in the comments
PS. the new Team Beach Body and Beach Body Coaches are so annoying I'm trying to find an honest review online for 30 minutes and all i see is a flood of bullshit reviews that tell me the same thing i already know, like "you will get fit, you'll loose the weight in no time and etc"

I am a week into Insanity and it's great! My younger brother and I are doing it together. Granted, he's in A LOT better shape than I am, but we're trying! It makes me feel good to see that he, too, is getting his butt kicked by the program. I have knee problems, but with a little modification, it works for me! We're each others motivation to stick with it and it's going to be a great 53 more days of bonding and changing our lives for the better!

My 19yo daughter and I (50yo) are doing it together. Both of us are in pretty good shape to start. The workouts are TOUGH but motivating. We are following the nutrition plan very closely and are amazed at how well we are eating. Every trip to the grocery store we realize how much we are on the perimeter, getting fresh meats, vegetables, fruits, etc. The water requirement is not a problem as we are craving water all day (I used to never drink water!). Anxious to get to Day 15 to do the fit test again. Agree with others about form - so important. Better to slow down and do the exercises right.

My husband and I started Insanity yesterday... I'm 28 years old, 180 lbs, out of shape, have two boys ages 5 & 8. My husband is 252 lbs and also out of shape (no definition, etc)
we finished Day 2 tonight. I can't speak for the end result yet, but I can say that Insanity is kicking our butts. I won't tell you we don't feel like we've been run over by a truck, because we are sore from head to toe. What I will say is that having a partner is our plan for motivation and accountability... Insanity is extremely difficult, but after our workout, we are excited we've completed it. Although pricey, if you're planning to give this 100% and follow a high protein diet, it'll be worth every cent.
Again, my advice - get an accountability partner for motivation & follow through!!

My boyfriend has convinced me to do INSANITY with him... We are both on day 4 and follwing the diet to an exact. He has converted our basement into an INSANE place to do our INSANITY workout every night. We both love it and would recommend to any one wanting to push to the limits and get fit. It's definately kicking my butt and i feel like i got hit by a truck...LOL. It's HARD as hell and requires alot of determination.....DO NOT QUIT!!!!We cannot wait to see the final results. As for the price, try and download it for free(if you know how) if NOT.....BUY IT....ITS WORTH EVERY PENNY. Don't hate when we become more fit, sexy and beautiful!!!!!!

So it has only been about three weeks since i started this program and i must say, i can feel results. Although its only been 3 weeks, i already feel more toned and less jiggly. I just know once my 60 days are up, i am going to be in the best shape of my life. I must admit, it probably would be best if you are the type of person that exercises. If you are considering this program PLEASE consult your doctor because you being fit already does NOT stop your soaked shirt, towel, and body!!

I am 33yo and started this program at 178 lbs(sigh). My husband is 32 and 252 lbs. He is very strong, but has significant abdominal fat. I was a high school and college athlete, but 10 years and 2 kids later my body needs much work. We are starting our 3rd week of insanity. Because of busy life we added one extra break day so far, but never two breaks in a row. It worked out well and we didn't loose steam. We motivate each other and it's great to know that our kids (7 & 5) are seeing us make a commitment to our health. They see the sweat and watch us push harder when Shaun T says dig deeper. They join in briefly each time, but think it's a really fun challenge. I'm really proud of the example we are setting for our kids and how much strength we are gaining. My husband is loosing inches faster than me of course, but he is down right giddy about the changes in my body. I have actually gained two pounds (ugh)and he has lost about 5. I definitely feel like there is an initial period of trading in the fat for the new muscle. I have more muscle to gain so it makes sense to me that while my body is already reshaping for the better, my weight isn't cooperating. For example, my favorite jeans fit great in the waist (no muffin top), but my newly found quads make the thighs of my jeans more snug than before. I'm doing my best to ignore the scale and enjoy the new toning. The diet is tough, but we have a daughter with celiac so we have gone organic already and really stick to whole foods so this hasn't been a real stretch. I'd like to hear more comments about calorie intake and at what threshold other women like me found good results. I'm afraid, but excited for month two and I hope that all the prep in month one adds up to more lbs lost along with the inches. I used to be 125 and a size 4/6. That was so long ago, I can hardly remember. I'm just hoping for 150 lbs and 8/10 by the end of this first 60 days. I'm more ready than ever to put in the time it takes to loose it all right. It WILL be gone forever when I'm done with it. Thanks Shaun T for reminding my husband and I that our bodies are capable of so much! And thanks for turning my husband into the hot stud I always knew he was!! lol.

I started this program 3 weeks ago. Just FYI for people the box shows up to your house from china, it said 300 and some change on it which worried me but turns out it was in yen so no worries there. There were also no B.S. charges on my card later. Also there is a lot of jumping in this program so if you're 6' 3" (like me) that can be an issue working out within your house. If that's your problem use your garage. I started this program because i needed lean muscle when i couldn't keep up with the other recruits at the recruiting station (i like being the best). This program is very very tough so if your just looking to get a beach body, you may want some better motivation. Instead of doing this to look attractive to other people try doing it for yourself. I'm a landscaper so when i get off work i don't want to move at all. I admit i skipped a day on my first week. So far I've already cut 2 minutes off my mile and a half run. This program is amazing I hope you'll try this its worth the $74 i spent on it already. Good luck to anyone who tries this and don't stop at all just push through it, give it all you have everyday.

I am a 34 year old mother who enjoyed life as a size 5 for most of my years. Being 5'9" tall, size 5 is very thin! After gaining 70 pounds while pregnant with my daughter, I ballooned up to a size 18, tipping the scales at 201 pounds! When my daughter was 5 and I was in the WORST shape of my life, I saw an infomercial for Insanity. Before having a baby (6 years earlier) I used to lift weights for an hour a day at the gym, but had done nothing for 6 years. I found a copy on Kijiji for $25 and started the workout. I began on July 5, 2010 as a size 18 and by July 22, 2010, I was a size 12!!!!! I posted side by side pics on Facebook, I was so amazed! I still do Insanity (not everyday), and am a size 10 and in fantastic shape right now!
So, do you have to be already exercising to do Insanity? NO! You will NOT be able to complete the workout for a while, but that's ok! You will build up to it and, if you are committed, you WILL succeed! I have gotten over 8 people hooked on Insanity just from actually seeing my results! I would have paid over $200 for it because it worked to FINALLY get that horrible, unwanted weight off of me!

I did the Insanity program last year, and it definitely improved my cardio! However, I didn't really lose any weight. (Don't forget to improve your diet too! I didn't. Obviously. :) ) I think it's a great program though, and I think Shaun T is very personable.

Having served in the british army i am not shy of a hard workout but had not found a civilian one as hard as Insanity X, the main benefit being it should never be easy because as you get fitter you should be pushing more and keep giving 100% each time. I am coming to the end of week 3 now and have not noticed any real weight changes in my appearance but I feel alot fitter and my recovery rate has improved greatly to almost instant which feels awesome. Although Shaun T recommends you land softly in most exercises it can still be high impact on your joints so any aches or pains should be rested asap to decrease further injury or hinder the training programme. Overall I highly recommend Insanity X to any person with an average fitness level male or female and will say within 2 weeks you will see your recovery rate improved and maybe some visual changes.

I'm in the recovery week of insanity. It's a gnarly workout, your cardio will improve. I haven't really lost any weight but I do feel a lot atronger. It's a great leg workout. Not to much emphasis on upper body. Stick with it though I'm gonna up it to twice a day when I finish the first 60 days.

I have just started doing the insanity workout. So for 60 days I plan to give it my all... I wonder if one was to do the same workout twice a day.. would that improve performance. But I say Insanity is alot better than PX90 workout. See you lot in 60 days

I did Insanity last year to get in shape for my wedding after trying numerous other types of exercise and can honestly say that nothing works like this set of DVDs. The money may seem high at first but trust me and spend it! Don't waste money on something else that will not be affective because you'll end up spending more in the end. My body never looked better. Dropped a couple of sizes and seriously toned up. The only problem is finding something else once you're done that can challenge you because of how fit you've become. Not a bad problem to have.

I have 3 days left with Insanity workout and I'm done with my first round yay! I'm 30, female and haven't had any type of exercise for years. I'm telling you...Insanity is not a cupcake exercise. It takes a lot of determination and focus to finish it. There were days I felt like giving up because it's too hard. But I pursued. Sweat literally dripped from me, I got all the soreness in my body that I have never had in my life. But when I get done for the day, I feel triumphant because I did it. And then I move on to the next day. I feel awesome after my workout. I love looking at myself in the mirror while exercising because I see an improved me. I love how my arms and legs are toned. My waist lost inches. The clothes I haven't worn in a while because they fit me like a sausage are now loose. It feels good to hear compliments...and I know they are genuine because nobody knows i'm doing Insanity. it's kinda hard to follow the meal plan though. I'm asian and rice is a staple food but I have learned to control it. Now since this is high intensity exercise, my knee joints are the ones taking the toll. I plan on switching to a less strenous exercise after insanity for a month or so, and then I will repeat it. It hurts so good, lol.

Day 4 and this is definatly an insane workout! I have been exercising consistently for almost 3 years starting with 4 days a week of zumba and now moving into running. However, I wanted to increase my overall strength (especially my upper body) and loose the last few pounds of fat. I consider myself to be in good to very good shape and this dvd is HARD. But it is only 40 minutes long and so far seems to be worth it! WHen I compare the price of $120 to the 10 dollars per class times 4 classes per week I was taking at my zumba studio... this dvd set is a bargain! I was lucky to get a copy second hand, so I didn't pay quite that much anyway. I have even been trying to get in some running time with this plan and I am really feeling the burn. This is not for a beginner, but def for those that want to kick it up a notch and take their fitness to the next level! Bring it on!

I have done Insanity twice through. It is amazing. I have never done such a difficult workout in my life. I am 43 and a mother of 3 children and I'm in the best shape ever. I have always worked out and been pretty fit, but Insanity took me to another level. The best thing I like about it is that it is HARD. I want a challenge and Insanity delivers. Now, I am doing an Insanity/P90X Hybrid workout and I love it. Well worth the money and time. I truly hope Shaun T continues producing workouts like Insanity and Asylum. He's the best!

Two years ago my husband and I embarked on our first P90x journey. We completed our 90 days and were thrilled with the results we both received. Since then, we have watched the Insanity infomercial and just shook our heads at the level of intensity. Last May (2011), I began my second 90 day round of P90x. Having already been through it and knowing what to expect it left me wanting more. We decided then that after completing our 90 days we would seguay right into Insanity. To say I was nervous was an understatement. I was actually dreading the end of my 90 days of P90X because I knew what was to come. We completed P90x at the end of September, took a week of rest and began Insanity. Turns out, I had every right to be nervous! Having just completed P90x, my core and upper body were strong and my head was in the right place, but Insanity still kicked my butt! The level of cardio was crazy. Although my body was pretty strong, turns out my heart and lungs still needed some work. After one week, I was thrilled at the improvement in my cardiovascular ability. After the first month and seeing improvements to my body and mind I was eager to step it up for month two. I was almost as nervous to start this phase as I was to start the program because I knew that the workout went from 40 min. to 60 min. I knew the 40 min. of Insanity was pushing me to my limit so how was I possibly going to make it through an hour? Well, just like the first phase, after a week I was doing it and loving it. I have just completed my 60 days of Insanity and would like to share some of my thoughts.
First, I am a 40 year old woman that has made working out a priority regularly since I was 12. Given that, I wasn't expecting huge results in my body. I was wrong. This is the first and only workout since my early 20's that has shaped my body so effectively. I was expecting a stronger core, but never in a million years thought I would see such results in my upper and lower body. My legs are slim and toned, my butt round and high. My arms have definition and my back has no bra fat! My tummy is taunt with no muffin top. Physically I can't say enough!
I have experienced some very positive unexpected results beyond the physical. I sleep better. I fall asleep quick and sleep through the whole night. I wake up feeling energized and refreshed. I'm not a morning person so this is new to me. Now you'll find me out walking my dogs before the sun is up. I had no idea how beautiful mornings can be. I have a much longer patience level. With five kids, two pups and a husband we all appreciate this benefit. My moods are more even keeled and consistent. I am more motivated throughout the day to meet and accomplish my responsibilities. Overall, my self esteem is higher and I'm happier.
All this because of a workout? Yes! Just try to out a price on that! I may have completed my 60 days, but I'm not stopping. I used to think it was called Insanity because you must be Insane to do it. Now I know it's called Insanity because you must be Insane to LOVE it!

After seventeen days, I have stopped Insanity because I have become an avid use of supplements, like cocaine. It is the only way I can get thru a workout but I have now realized, I don't need the workout, I just need the supplement. Thanks Insanity, I love it.

Two years ago I was a regular member of my gym, worked out for 2-3 hours a day and was in an amazing shape.I´m 5ft6 tall and had the amazing 90-59-92 measurements(in centimeters)..Than I got sick and gained a lot of fat(44 pounds),got totally outta shape..Since I´ve recovered I´ve lost 22 pounds and wanted to go back to the gym but I just couldn´t face it..Everyone saw the change and I couldn´t bare the stares from the people I used to work out with.Than I saw the Insanity infomercial and decided to do it.Fortunately I dont have a scale but I see the changes. I´m only on my day 5 and I feel soooo good!!! My abbs are flatter, and I look slimmer..I have a wedding a month from now so I really hope to lose at least 10 pounds until the 14th of July..I just have one problem with it...I can´t eat that often.I eat oatmeal with fruit yogurt (450 cal),have a protein-shake before the exercise,soy-flakes with yogurt for dinner and something cooked in-between.I really do hope I will get the results I want.Be in touch and see you in a month :)

It does seem that the people who were already working out or were already in fairly good shape see results the quickest. I am now on week 3, day 2 of Insanity. I am a 5'7 38 yr old female. When I started Insanity I weighed in at 207. Today I am only 205. BUT!, I definitely notice a slight change in muscle tone, my core is tighter, my waist is a little smaller (inches I guess), my posture is better, my energy level is up, and each workout I can do a little bit more than before. So despite what the scale says, I am still motivated. I am eating much better; watching portions, starches and things of that nature. I haven't worked out at this intensity in years so I consider myself to be a beginner. I love a challenge and one of my goals is to become more agile and athletic. So this workout is perfect to help me get there. I probably won't be one of those posting pics after my 60 days but I'm sure after a couple a rounds I will.

Me and my wife are doing the insanity program, just getting past week 2 and we both seriously love it. It is really difficult for the first week, I wanted to quit so many times but I decided to just keep pushing through and not even 2full weeks into the program I'm addicted. I don't fallow the nutrition guide completely but I do eat healthy and only drink water and unsweetened ice tea. I'm a 20 year old male, definatly overwieght, 315 pounds 6'2 tall. After only the first week and half I can feel and slighty see results. My pants are definaty looser on me, and I honstly feel so much better mentaly and physicaly. It's definatly worth it, eat healthy, drink water, do your absolute best you can on each workout and you're going to be satisfied with it.

--- I just gave birth 1 yr ago but at age 36 the weight is harder to shed. I went to the gym for 3 months only to lose about 10 pounds but I wanted faster better results.
--- I purchased Insanity for myself but the whole family got involved and it is so much fun, even though it kicks your butt lol
--- In 2 weeks I have seen better results then from the 3 months in the gym and am already seeing the toning.
--- I spent the $120 to purchase it from the official website but it was definately worth every penny and I am only 2 weeks in
--- Do what you can do and dont over do... Then again dont be lazy either, push it.
--- Its addicting and effective... Go For It

I am now 253 pounds and I use to be more! but thanks to my husband who started me on the insanity workout I'm now losing weight. It is hard and you do have to push yourself but the feeling of self accomplishment you get after the workout is amazing and I find myself not being able to wait for the next day to workout again.
If someone of my size can do insanity any one can do it!!!
